Ruger American Rifle Generation II Standard .308 Win (Model 46902) is a high-quality bolt-action rifle designed for hunters and precision shooters who demand accuracy, reliability and modern ergonomics. The second generation of the American series offers improved stock geometry, better recoil management and a durable, modern look, suitable for big game hunting and medium to long-range target shooting.

The rifle is equipped with a 20" medium contour barrel featuring deep spiral flutes that reduce weight at the muzzle end and improve balance without sacrificing stiffness or accuracy. The barrel is cold hammer-forged with 5 grooves and a 1:10" RH twist, providing excellent precision and long service life in .308 Winchester. A Gun Metal Gray Cerakote finish on the barrel enhances corrosion resistance and overall durability.

The barrel is threaded 5/8"-24 and comes with a factory-installed radial port muzzle brake that significantly reduces felt recoil and muzzle rise, helping you get back on target faster. A factory-installed one-piece Picatinny scope base on the receiver makes mounting optics straightforward, with no need for additional bases.

The Gray Splatter Gen II American stock features a textured splatter finish that provides a secure grip without being overly abrasive. A soft rubber recoil pad with a generous radius on the heel allows the rifle to shoulder smoothly, while its progressive geometry helps to collapse and absorb recoil. The length of pull can be adjusted from 12" to 13.75" by removing the installed spacer, allowing a comfortable fit for different shooters and clothing layers.

A low comb insert is installed from the factory to improve sight alignment when using magnified optics. Additional comb inserts and an optional stock weight kit (adding up to 1.6 lb to the buttstock) are available to fine-tune the balance of the rifle when using heavier muzzle devices, suppressors or larger optics.

The Ruger Marksman Adjustable™ Trigger delivers a crisp, predictable break with a user-adjustable pull weight between approximately 3 and 5 lb (1.36–2.27 kg), allowing the shooter to tune the trigger to personal preference. The patented Power Bedding™ integral bedding block system securely locates the receiver and free-floats the barrel, providing consistent accuracy and repeatable point of impact.

The one-piece bolt is CNC machined from stainless steel, featuring a familiar three-lug design with a 70° throw for ample scope clearance and smooth cycling. The oversized bolt handle with a 5/16"-24 thread pattern can be easily replaced with aftermarket options. An intuitive three-position tang safety locks the bolt to prevent inadvertent opening while still allowing the rifle to be loaded with the safety engaged.
